Assistant Director, Student Development Apply

TBC’s Office of Student Development seeks a student affairs/services professional to provide support to all aspects of the Office’s initiatives and services. You will be expected to work closely with colleagues to assist in the implementation of a departmental strategy. Responsibilities include fiscal management, co-curricular engagement, immersion, volunteer and service learning efforts, housing, management and maintenance of physical space and technology, emergency preparedness and response, behavior management, visa procedures, student arrivals and departures, development of the Chinese Roommate and Host Family programs, orientation and reentry efforts, and assisting in the coordination of student development functions of the two annual academic excursions. The Assistant Director of Student Development serves as the primary liaison to School of International Education at TBC’s host institution, the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE).

You will be well versed in the skills needed to work successfully in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment and are native Chinese OR have extensive (3+ years) experience working and living in China. You will have a passion for and dedication to higher education, including, ideally, previous work experience in international education. You will enjoy working collaboratively and supportively with students, and will have a commitment to educating and developing young adults. You will have the ability to support existing programs. Further, you will have a high emotional intelligence, bringing self- awareness to your role to be an effective student development educator.

Director of Academics Apply

The Director of Academics, Faculty and Research reports to the Executive Director of TBC and leads all of TBC’s semester and summer academic programming. TBC seeks a dynamic scholar and teacher who fosters a collaborative pursuit of intercultural understanding. Further, TBC seeks an individual who can work creatively to innovate new academic programming models and who can work collaboratively and cross-departmentally on co-curricular programming, as well as foster a spirit of research excellence, engagement and exchange in Beijing and further afield. Additionally, as TBC expands its professional experience program in 2017 and beyond, the Director will be responsible for this flagship program, including its sustainable growth, quality and academic rigor. The Director of Academics, Faculty and Research has management responsibility for two staff: a Coordinator of Academic Affairs and an Internships Coordinator (new position in 2017).
