Our Team

Rachel Liu is Digital Media Specialist at The Beijing Center, where she manages all of TBC’s social media channels, including WeChat, Facebook, and Instagram, as well as the blogs on TBC’s website. She began at TBC as an intern in 2021 and joined the team full-time in 2023.

Rachel is the lead author of Exploring Jesuit Heritage in Beijing: Traces of East-West Cultural Encounters (TBC Press, 2026), a guide to sixteen sites in Beijing connected with Jesuit activity during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Rachel completed her undergraduate studies at Macalester College in Minnesota, studied abroad at Sophia University, a Jesuit university in Tokyo, and earned her master’s degree from Keio University. Her years of study and work across the United States, Japan, and China shape her enthusiasm for intercultural communication.

Rachel works in English, Japanese, and Chinese.

Outside of work, she loves exploring new places and diving into fresh experiences!
