INTERNSHIP SHOWCASE – SPRING 2019

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, TBC, in collaboration with JingJobs – a bilingual platform for young professionals, hosted the Spring Job and Internships Expo. The event brought together the Beijing expat and young professionals community, along with organizations around Beijing to share about internships experiences and job opportunities. Coinciding with the Internship Showcase and Job Fair, two workshops with experienced professionals, providing practical skills for getting dream jobs were also held. 

INTERNSHIP SHOWCASE

Since 2017, TBC’s CareerVentures has placed over 100 international students in internships in Beijing. At the end of each term, student-interns share their experiences at an internship expo event. TBC has partnered with companies across industries in Beijing, including the US Embassy, United Family Hospital, Edelman, Carnegie Tsinghua Center, etc. to provide TBC students with a plethora of opportunities to build up their professional experience. During the April 27th event, 18 TBC students shared their experience working at their respective host companies. Take look at our students’ wonderful posters below:

WORKSHOPS

In our workshops, Troy Fan, who works for Tsinghua SEM X-elerator as an international business manager, as well as a cross-cultural blogger, shared his insights and personal journey from 0 to 200k+ active followers on Weibo, and how his online presence has influenced his career opportunities. Meanwhile, presentation expert Martin Barnes covered the dos and don’ts of how to structure what you say in your interview, gave concrete recommendations for interview prep, and provided opportunities for participants to immediately put into practice new skills.

JOB FAIR

At the Job Fair, more than 20 Chinese and international companies were advertising open positions in a variety of industries, which was a good opportunity to expand the network and make new connections. Over 200 people participated.
