Founded in 1998, The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies (TBC) first operated at the Beijing Athletic University and later established a long-term presence at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) beginning in 2002. During its time at UIBE, TBC renovated its facility to reflect traditional Beijing hutong architecture and created an immersive cultural space for students and scholars.
Over two decades, this location hosted thousands of students and visiting faculty from around the world, and it became known for its unique aesthetic and learning environment.
OUR SPACES
We are currently relocating to a new site in Beijing, which will house our updated learning and program spaces. While we transition, some features and facilities described in earlier materials — such as our former hutong-style library corridor and UIBE student lounge, are no longer applicable.
Our new campus will maintain the same commitment to cultural immersion, academic excellence, and student-centered experiences. Details of our new facilities will be updated on this page once the move is complete.
