What makes a TBC Virtual Internship?

TBC does not intend to substitute a face-to-face internship experience, but rather to provide students with a practical, professional, and academic experience that helps them achieve desired skills and goals, with many of the same benefits as a traditional internship. TBC virtual interns will have the opportunity to intern for Chinese or international companies in a variety of fields, such as business, marketing, sales, communications, etc. Interns will build dynamic skills that will allow them to remain competitive in the current globalized job market. No prior Chinese language necessary! Students, if your school does not have a TBC Virtual Internship Partnership, you can also choose to Intern Abroad in China for a semester or summer.

The Virtual Internship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students of our partner universities. Contact us at [email protected] for more details and to become a partner.

APPLICATION PROCESS

For the Virtual Internship Program, TBC only admits students from partner universities. We work with universities to develop an application process that works with each school’s schedule. Upon submission of application, the placement process will take 2-3 weeks before the start of internships. Here’s how the application process works:

   1. SUBMIT APPLICATIONS

Applications are submitted online. The application requires digital copies of resumes/CVs and transcripts.

   2. APPLICATION REVIEW

Once applications are submitted, it will be reviewed and students will be contacted if there are any problems.

   3. CONSULTATION SESSION

Students meet with TBC’s Internship Coordinator. We will contact students to arrange a time to have their initial Consultation Session to discuss career goals. Following the interview, your Internship Coordinator will find internship matches based on their profile, and will advise them on how to move forward in directly applying and interviewing for the internship positions. Once accepted for an internship, they will receive an email with an ‘Intent to Enroll’ form which cements commitment in the Virtual Internship Program.

4. ACCEPT PLACEMENT OFFER 4. ACCEPT PLACEMENT OFFER

Once students accept their placement offer, the real fun begins!
