Dundalk Institute of Technology and TBC Sign Transfer Agreement To Promote Student Exchange Between China and Ireland

On March 16, 2021, The Beijing Center and Dundalk Institute of Technology signed a transfer agreement in cooperation of facilitating academic and cultural student exchange between China and Ireland.

In an effort to connect and embrace the emerging academic and cultural opportunities between Europe and China, The Beijing Center has taken the initiative to expand its international partnerships – specifically in Ireland, a top study abroad destination. This partnership supports The Beijing Center’s Pathway Program, where students in China will be offered the opportunity to study at Dundalk Institute of Technology, upon completion of the academic and disciplinary requirements of both institutions. Furthermore, this partnership builds on TBC’s existing foundation of and commitment to multicultural engagement.

‘’Our efforts to further increase cross-cultural dialogue continue as we develop new programs for students while building new partnerships with European educational institutions. The Dundalk Institute of Technology exchange is a great way for students in China to receive a multicultural experience through a popular student destination,’’ Dr. Simon Koo, Executive Director of TBC.

As part of this partnership, The Beijing Center students will have the opportunity to continue their studies and complete their degree at Dundalk Institute of Technology. Admittance to study at Dundalk will be based on English language proficiency, compliance with all student handbook guidelines, along with the necessary courses. As part of their studies at TBC, Chinese students will experience an international educational system that will accelerate their current and future professional and academic goals.

Founded in 1998, The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies (TBC) is a center of higher education in mainland China committed to fostering mutual understanding between China and other cultures through cultural exchange, education and research. What makes us unique is our placement in a long and storied tradition of Jesuit education, one that teaches us that true cultural engagement starts first with friendship.

The Pathway Program at TBC is focused and rigorous, designed for Chinese students who are interested in obtaining a bachelor’s degree abroad. Pathway students spend one to two years taking transferable courses at The Beijing Center while preparing themselves for their entry into university in another country.

The Beijing Center continually works to establish articulation agreements with undergraduate institutions around the world to facilitate Chinese student transfers into bachelor’s degree programs. For more information on such agreements, contact us by email at admissions@thebeijingcenter.org or call +86-10-8415-8816.
